Daffodealz Is currently on a quest to become a non-profit organization. We hope to connect communities of people to the art/importance of gardening, and growing their own food through workshops, and experiences.
Along with teaching others about the importance of gardening, Daffodealz also educates on plant identification, and ways to make herbal tea. Finally, we are now showing the various ways you can garden in small spaces! This includes balconies, windowsills, and indoor/outdoor small greenhouses. Check out our balcony garden video here, where we are currently growing over 140 plants and herbs!
BHMI invited their Black community members for a special workshop with us. We guided them through a comprehensive, hands-on learning process designed to teach others about the logistics of gardening, and the importance of developing a relationship with food.
The workshop presented basic knowledge of Garden Zones, seed banks/free seed resources and proper seed storage. (Including the three parts that make up healthy soil/compost) Workshop attendees were given plant containers and budget friendly alternatives, along with a brief explanation of herbs, (what they are and their benefits) how to plant them, and a choice to plant either thyme, oregano, or basil seeds of their own.
